So who are you ?
Sætur :)Where to start? Well, my name is Sverrir and I'm the son of Sigmundar Unnars Arthúrssonar and Ásthildar Sigurðardóttur. I started out in one of our capital's highest elevated suburbs, Breiðholt. Somehow survived the mandatory first and second education levels at one of Iceland's more "lovelier" public schools. The only real thing I think I took from that experience is to dislike learning and homework and learned to play hookie. Which ironically was a pretty decent warm-up for high-school where I spent lovely (albeit a bit blurry) four years, in Iceland the high-school system spans four years (ages 16-20).

What are you doing ?
Well luckily I managed to shake off all the learning-related vices I picked up during my elementary education. I finished my undergraduate degree in Computer Science at Reykjavik University in spring 2004 and then a M.Sc. degree, also in Computer Science, two years later. For my masters I focused on Artificial Intelligence, and specially on Informed Search Methods. At the moment I'm working as (jokingly referred to by my former supervisor) a "Post-Master" at the AI-lab at Reykjavik University and simply loving the world of research and academia.

What are you going to be when you grow up?
ohh.. that's a tough one.. hmm.. well I'm at least not planning on getting any bigger :D

Any successors ?
Well, for one of my birthdays I received a tiny little white mouse dame, which I then later got another (which I thought at the time) another female playmate. As it turns out this female companion was in fact a man, so for a while we attended to several little black, white and spotty little mice. Unfortunately we had to give them all away the last time we moved, but you could say that for a time I had a couple of children and even grand-children ;)

How about a car, you must own a car right?
Silfurgráa-eldingin (swchvússs...)Indeed I doom, my Kate. A lovely VW-Golf 2000 I dubbed "The silver lightning". Naively I negotiated with my girlfriend for joint custody a few years back, so technically I can't really call Kate "my" car anymore, although it's never made clearer who's car it is when it needs gas or an oil change (hint: mine) :D

So how do you spend your free-time ?
Ahh yes, free-time! The sweetness. To be honest I'm gradually re-discovering after these years of University studying what it is that I really liked doing during my time off and during weekends. hehe... although I've never really forgotten my love for fishing (angling), hiking and cycling. I however can't deny that I just love playing computer and video games, and regularly play Unreal Tournament or Half-life. This past year World of Warcraft has consumed most of my allocated "computer-play-time". FTW!

If you ever got a cat, would you then create an excruciatingly comprehensive and overly personalized web page dedicated to it?
Hell-yeah! and for the dog too. After I got the mice I created a small web site with very moderate amount of information about them on an Icelandic web page hosting service. Which I though was rather funny :) I however discovered that there is a lot of angry people out there which really have it out for cute little white mice. Weird people.

Any favorite quotes ?
One of my top favorites is one that Charlton Heston had in the original "Planet of the Apes" (1968). Shortly after crash-landing on an alien planet and narrowly escaping to safety, he and his shipmates take inventory and try to decide what to do next. Heston has the coooooolest last word in that debate with this sentence:

"Well, if there's no life here we've got just 72 hours to find it. That's when the groceries run out..." [listen] [even more...]

One of the films on my, totally unsorted, favorites list :D

Sætur :)But Sverrir why a web page, you promised!?!
It doesn't do any good being a computer nerd and not having an "official" fan site. But I solemnly swear that on this web site there shall not be any intellectually constructive material nor anything even remotely educational, discussions or comments. So say we all!

Well, well you sure sound like an interesting bloke, how can I contact you to know more?
You can always reach me by email through my gmail account (at the top of this page, under the menus). You are also free to add me to your MSN or other IM client (my IM handle is also at the top), I however reserve the right to block you if your first 5 chat lines do not include any information about who I'm talking to ... or if you're exceptionally boring ;) hehe...
